Sailesh Mishra 

Sailesh Mishra is a social entrepreneur and mentor, and is as a renowned international social activist working for the welfare of senior citizens.

He is the Founder of Silver Innings Group a community dedicated to Senior Citizens in India. In 2016, he travelled to Perth to undertake a four week intensive master course on the Spark of Life Philosophy. He is Mumbai’s first International Spark of Life Master Practitioner in Dementia Care.

Sailesh has around 15 years hard core marketing experience in corporate world and since last 10 years actively involved working with Elderly. His organisation Silver Innings (since April 2008) is working towards creating Elder Friendly World where Ageing becomes a positive and rewarding experience.

In 2005, still in his early 40’s Sailesh left his well paid corporate job to work for his passion to work with senior citizens. He believes this is the most neglected and ignored segment. His work in the field of Dementia is worth to be commended, and he effectively uses his ICT (Social Media) ,PR , Networking & Advocacy skills to reach out to civil society all over the globe.

Having delved deep into the lives of the aged and understanding their challenges, their emotional needs, their wishes and their aspirations and hopes, Sailesh felt compelled to start ‘A1 Snehanjali’ in Aug 2013– Mumbai MMRDA’s 1st 24 x 7 Dedicated Assisted Living Elder Care Home at Nalasopara West and in 2016 at Virar.

He has won several awards including the National award Karamaveer Puraskar in 2008 and Karmaveer Jyoti in 2016, and he has participated in various summits. Sailesh’s work in the field of Dementia and Elder Right Advocacy has brought him accolades, respect and support from many renowned organisations around the world.

His vision for an elder-friendly world has garnered support from individuals and organisations across age in society. A belief that these silver-haired, golden-hearted people deserve to enjoy their “second childhood” with dignity, respect and care has driven Sailesh and his team of committed souls to reach out to seniors in as many ways as possible.

He has represented India in ‘United Nation’ New York in 2012 at ‘Open-ended Working Group on Ageing’ (OEWG) for Elder Right.

On Dec 2013, his biography story ‘Son of Million Parents’ was published in Inspiration book ‘Karma Kurry’ published by Jaico, he is one of 26 inspiring souls pan India to be profiled.

He has been also featured in KBC National Telecast on Sony TV on 16th Oct 2017 and Endorsed by Amitabh Bachchan,  ‘SatyamevJayate’ episode on Senior Citizens in 2012,a unique talk show hosted by Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan; In Aug 2015 he and his team Silver Innings and A1 Snehanjlai were part of National Talk Show STREE SHAKTI on National TV channel DD; in 2016 on DD Shayadri TV Talk show on Alzheimer’s 2016 and he was Sailesh Mishra was featured on Renowned International USA base ‘Alzheimer’s Speaks Radio’ in 2011 and 2016. On 7th Oct 2017, he delivered his 1st TEDX talk at DPS Gurgaon.

On 10th Oct 2017 he has launch his First book ‘REMEMBER ME – You Me and Dementia’ on Dementia Management.

In Feb 2018 he has been mentioned in Cover Front page and Cover story in prestigious Senior Citizens Magazine ‘Harmony Celebrate Age’.

In April 2018, we invited him to speak at our inaugural Elders Forum, held in Reading, UK. At this event he spoke about ‘Dignity in care amongst elders & the protection of human rights & prevention of elder abuse’.

Considered a friend among the senior citizens and a mentor and guide to youngsters, Sailesh Mishra is passionate about photography, music and football.
