In a 40 year career, Cedi has held a series of senior positions in the housing association, local authority and charity sectors, including four years as Managing Director of a BME Housing Association, twelve years as Chief Executive of a multi-regional charity that supported people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health problems and over five years as Chief Executive of a UK based charity that employed 2000 people who cared for and supported over 3000 people a year through its residential care homes and homecare service for older people and its children, young people and families services.
Cedi has over 25 years’ experience as a member of the Boards of several housing related national governing bodies, housing associations and voluntary organisations, including over 9 years as Non-Executive Director of a specialist mental health Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and most recently 8 years as a Governor of a University. Cedi is currently a Non-Executive Director of a Local Authority Trading Company and an NHS Mental Health Trust
On four separate occasions, Cedi has been named as one of Britain’s 100 Most Influential Black People and was described as ‘…unsung hero of the Third Sector, who has changed as many lives in his life outside of work as he has in his job’. In 2015, Cedi was recognised as one of the ‘1,000 Black & Asian Heroes 1950-2010’ by ‘Our Heritage’ TV.
