Global Ageing Conference, September 2023, Glasgow, Scotland

With generous support from UKRI Healthy Ageing Challenge, we provided bursaries for 7 delegates from developing Commonwealth countries to join us at the 2023 Global Ageing Network’s biennial conference held in conjunction with Scottish Care and the National Care Forum. Several of our Board Directors spoke on a variety of topics too.  

Setting up a Healthy Ageing Task Force for Mauritius October 2022

With the theme of ‘Setting up a healthy ageing task force for Mauritius’ we were delighted to partner with Le Groupement FIAPA (Fédération Internationale des Associations de Personnes Agées), to organise an exciting joint International Forum, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity.

At CHOGM 2022, 20-25 June we ensured the perspective and contribution of older people was included in discussions through our eight passionate delegates; each delegate attended in a voluntary capacity and was proud to advocate for older people in the Commonwealth.

Virtual Commonwealth Elders’ Forum September 2020

On Wednesday 30 September 2020, we held our first Virtual Commonwealth Elders Forum to mark the International Day of Older Persons and highlight the need to tackle ageism in the Commonwealth

With the generous support of Curaviva and international aged care providers and supporters, we developed a scholarship fund for delegates from Commonwealth countries to be a part of this conference 18-21 September 2017, Montreux, Switzerland

Held in in collaboration with The Residential Forum, and hosted in London UK by Trowers & Hamlins LLP, our Chair Andrew Larpent OBE, and Jo Boylan, Operations Director of Southern Cross Care in South Australia shared experiences and evidence gained from the implementation of innovative alternative approaches.
