CommonAge scholarship recipient Mr. Amit Vaidya
Mr. Amit Vaidya, Director at UCC Care Pvt. Ltd. will be travelling from India to Perth on a CommonAge scholarship to join other commonwealth delegates at the IAHSA/ACSA conference, 30 August – 3 September.
Although he is a trained architect, Mr Vaidya has been leading his company’s foray in senior living since 2009, and he has developed and instigated in India the concept of a fully serviced senior living facility. The Golden Estate style of senior living takes the inspiration from the traditional Indian ‘Joint Family’ system.
Today Mr Vaidya is recognised as one of the pioneers in developing an indigenous service delivery model for the senior living industry in the country.
Under him The Golden Estate, as a lease and service model has broken the hold of pure real-estate based products which have dominated the Senior Living space in India.
Mr. Vaidya is also involved in the education of under privileged children and women empowerment; he is a governing board member of the Delhi based award winning NGO “Sshrishti” and is also the vice chairman of Onam Education Society.
