Each year the Commonwealth Study Conferences Leaders (CSC Leaders) progamme draws together groups of 100 people working in leadership positions in a wide range of activities and businesses from throughout the Commonwealth. CSC Leaders is a partnership between HRH The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conferences and leadership development organisation Common Purpose.

The programme attracts senior leaders and those aspiring to the top roles in their chosen professions to explore and develop senior leadership capacity and skills. In 2014 the Chairman of CommonAge, Andrew Larpent, was fortunate to be offered a place on the programme. Andrew’s involvement took him first to London in March 2013 for a week of immersion in the challenges and opportunities facing communities from Commonwealth countries living in the UK. HRH The Princess Royal participated in the event and spent time with the group as they developed ideas for the future of the Commonwealth.

This was followed in June by part two of the programme in Mumbai where the group explored the many challenges and opportunities facing communities and businesses in that great city.

It was during this programme that the initial concept for CommonAge was developed and tested. It was overwhelmingly supported as one of the leading initiatives to be taken forward after the study conference.

The CSC Leaders programme can be a life changing experience for those fortunate enough to be selected. It is open to individuals from throughout the Commonwealth. Further details of the programme and how to apply can be found at www.cscleaders.org.
